The book probes the deep connection between English language teaching and the use and role of information and communication technologies (ICTs). Emphasising that ICT is now an indispensable part of the contemporary learning environment, it points that integration of ICT in foreign language learning provides a powerful learning environment to ensure cooperative learning and a variety of different interactions. It views the challenges of ELT and the need to rethink and revamp teaching strategies with the changing times. Experts view English as a global link language and its teaching and learning through an innovative approach. They examine teaching spoken English in rural contexts, quality assurance in e-learning, role of literature in ELT and some new modes of application of ICT in ELT.


Satendra Kumar is a teacher of English and has a long experience of teaching over a decade. Dr. Kumar is a genuine pursuer of knowledge with a vast reservoir of experience. He obtained his M.A. degree from C.C.S. University, Meerut, Ph.D. in English from Gurukula Kangri University, Haridwar and M.Ed. from M.D. University, Rohtak. Besides, he did his P.G.C.T.E. course from CIEFL, Hyderabad and Diploma in Journalism from IGNOU, New Delhi. He has published many research papers and articles in the journals of national & international repute and has also attended national & international seminars and conferences organized by various Universities of India. Currently, he is engaged in completing his Diploma Course from CIEFL, Hyderabad.
