The chapters are twenty in and they cover, of course with sequencewise, the khilafat, the significant role of Ali brothers, Gandhi's ideology of Hindu-Muslim unity, the emergence of Mrs.Annie Besant in 1917 when she was elected the congress president, attitude of the British Raj, the Montagu-Chelrnsford reforms having hearing on constitutional developments in India, the Rowlatt Bills and their severe opposition by the people, the tragedy at Amritsar and the role of Pandit Motilal Nehru as congress president at the Amritsar session.
