Jain was the Director, B M Institute of Engineering and Technology, Sonepat. He was the founder, Director-Principal of C R State College of Engineering, Murthal (Sonepat), Haryana—a Haryana Government Engineering College. Before taking up this assignment in 1987, he was the Head of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He obtained his PhD from BITS, Pilani and had been teaching courses in Network Analysis and Synthesis, Analog and Digital Electronic Circuits and Systems, Electronic Measurements, Control Systems and Microprocessors for over four decades. His areas of interest included digital systems, microprocessors, optoelectronics and reliability engineering, planning and development of technical institutions. He co-authored Digital Electronics Practice Using ICs (TMH, 1983), was the author of Digital Electronics and Microprocessors—Problems and Solutions (TMH, 1987), Switching Theory and Logic Design (TMH, 2003) and Editor-in-Chief of the Encyclopaedia of Science and Technology (CPH, 1994).

Dr. Kishor Sarawadekar (किशोर सरवडेकर) is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-BHU), Varanasi. He received the M.Tech. and Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics and VLSI design from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in 2007 and 2011, respectively. He has about 20 years of industry and academic experience and his research interests include algorithms and architectures for image/video processing, image coding system like HEVC, JPEG 2000, bio-medical image processing, and related low power VLSI designs. Prior to this, he has brief work experience at Defence Institute of Technology, Pune. He has worked as a software engineer in Xilinx India Technology Services Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, India where he was involved in creating reference designs on FPGA platform. Three research scholars have earned their Ph.D. under his supervision and 26 students have completed their Masters’ thesis. He has published research articles in the international journals like IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems–II: Express Briefs, IEEE Transactions on Human- Machine Systems, Pattern Recognition Letters, etc. He has filed two Indian patents too.
