With improved tools, humansociety evolved, the first civilizations begin built in rivervalleys in South-west Asia, Egypt, India and China. Mesopotamia wasthe Fertile Crescent and described by many scholars as the 'Cradleof civilization'. The convergence of the Tigris and Euphratesrivers produced rich fertile soil and a supply of water forirrigation. The Basic element in the lengthy history of Egyptiancivilization is geography. The Nile River rises from the lakes ofcentral Africa as the White Nile and from the mountains of Ethiopiaas the Blue Nile.
